Billboard sites are
individually graded and therefore a standard rate
does not apply.
Variables include location, (demographic) if the
site has lights, siting, is it at traffic lights
or on a highway plus numerous other factors which
affect viewing time, eg angle to road etc.
The industry has 3 standard sizes. 06 sheet, 24
sheet and Supersite. The numbers refer to the number
of sheets of paper required to cover a board however
modern printing presses use larger sheets of paper
and now these sites only require half the number
but the old name still remains.
The term Supersite was an upgraded 48 sheeter and
was originally a trade name used by Australian Posters
in the 1980s as a marketing name for slightly larger
size board.
Eventually the industry adopted the name and new
size and is now the standard for large format advertising. |
